Are you a progressive thinking about running for office in 2018, but are unsure about the mysterious process of campaigning? Or do you want to know more about campaigns so you can be a better super-volunteer? We've got the "school" for you!

Progressive Campaign School by the One Michigan Alliance.

What: Campaigns 101 by the Progressive Campaign School at OMA
When: 11 February, Sunday, 4:00-7:00 pm.
Place: Cook-DeVos Building, GVSU Medical Hill Campus, 301 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, Room # TBA.

We'll be offering a brief, introductory training session geared to first-time political candidates (but open to all) so you can make your decision on running with the best information possible. The sessions will also offer you a how-to guide on starting to run for office and preparing to win in November and beyond. You'll learn about filing for office, putting together a campaign plan and infrastructure, canvassing, fundraising, data analytics, communications, messaging, and more.

We'll be featuring veteran West Michigan campaigners who have managed and won dozens of campaigns and are ready to share their strategies and tips with you.

This training -- Campaigns 101 -- is free and open to progressive candidates, future staff, activists, and volunteers interested in getting on the path to victory in 2018 and beyond. We'll have limited seating, so please RSVP here or at onemichiganalliance@gmail.com.

There are lots of positions open in 2018, 2019 and beyond: school boards, city commissions, township positions, county commission, the state legislature, and more.

Campaigns 101 is just the beginning. We'll be back with more detailed trainings and will partner with other organizations helping candidates. It's like Trump University ... only completely different!
