NJ Denounces the #TrumpShutDown

Trump and Republicans control every branch of the government and on Friday, they shut it down, jeopardizing the lives of countless of Americans. They repeatedly undermined negotiations by insisting that funding for Trump’s racist border wall be included in any spending package. Dreamers and TPS holders continue to live without any certain relief. In Puerto Rico, households have gone 120 days without power. Federal workers and all of us who rely on federal programs are out in the cold.

The cost to New Jersey is real: because of Trump's efforts to block a bipartisan deal, we will not be able to apply for or make changes to Social Security or access other federal government services and facilities.
