On May 8, 1917, Michigan women won the right to vote in presidential elections. In celebration of this 100th anniversary of the start of women’s suffrage in Michigan, Women Organize Michigan Summit will be holding a screening of the movie "Iron Jawed Angels" as a fundraiser at the Civic Theater in downtown Farmington.

When we heard about this event in our hometown, we---the ladies of theWarnerettes Parasol Drill Team---knew we had to step up. As movie-goers enter the Civic, we'll be standing outside with signs and flags, recreating the famous photo outside the White House as suffragettes picketed in silent protest of freedom denied:

MR. PRESIDENT---HOW LONG MUST WOMEN WAIT FOR LIBERTY?

As you walk into the theater or pass us by on the sidewalk, please stop to say "hi," and feel free to take a selfie with us! Tag us in it, and we'll share it on our page.
