Over 1/4 of universities across the UK have already divested, yet here at Manchester we still have around £4 million invested in fossil fuel companies.
At this critical time in the fight against climate change, we cannot afford for our ‘prestigious’ establishment to be investing ANY money in dirty fossil fuels.
On the 15th March, ahead of the Board of Governer's decision meeting in April, People & Planet are holding a protest where we will be decorating the gates of the arch with orange balloons (biodegradable, of course) and writing cards to the president Dame Nancy Rothwell to urge her to get our university to divest.
