Medicare for All CT, Colleges Organizing for Medical Access of Connecticut (COMA-CT) and friends present our companion event to the national Millions Marching for Medicare for All this Monday. We'll be demonstrating outside of Rep. Rosa DeLauro's office in New Haven from 4-6pm. Her staff is expecting us -- and is quite supportive!
Our objective is to encourage Rep. DeLauro and the rest of the CT House Delegation to cosponsor H.R. 676, John Conyers' (D-MI) Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act. The majority of House Democrats have signed (including blue dogs from southern states); DeLauro is one of a tiny handful of holdouts left in the Progressive Caucus.
With Trumpcare meeting its demise in the Senate, an ACA repeal politically impossible, and CT health exchange rates for 2018 projected to rise (again) by double digits, we think it's time our reps backed legislation that enjoys 85% approval among Dems and left-leaning Independents.
