Emergency Tax Bill Protest: Wall Street, Tues., Dec. 19, Noon

The Republican tax bill can still be stopped! We in New York cannot be silent as Congress prepares to pass a bill that will devastate New York State and transfer trillions of dollars from the poor and the middle class to the richest tenth of one percent.

Do not think that the revised form of the bill is acceptable or that passage of the bill is inevitable. Even in its revised form, the tax bill is a declaration of war on working people, communities of color, the elderly, the poor and the sick.
We must stop it!

On Tuesday, December 19, at noon, activists from labor unions and community and political organizations will take our demand to the heart of corporate finance, Wall Street. We will demonstrate against the tax bill and disrupt business as usual. Our message? Stop the tax giveaway to Wall Street and the rich! Tax the rich, not the poor!

We need everyone. Make it a priority to be there. Sign up here to come, and let us know if you also want to participate in a peaceful action that risks arrest. A coalition of experienced progressive groups will provide training and support.
Training for action that risks arrest at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday—details to follow
